anything, within or outside of my physical form, to weaken me. I am resolved that my nerves shall be steady and obey my mandates. 11. I resolve to be Pure and perfectly Chaste, Clean,Contented, and studious. I shall by force of my Will-Power crush and starve out all sensual and uncleanthoughts; and conquer, most thoroughly, "the lust ofthe flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life." I amthe embodiment of Continence. 12. I resolve to live above the animal stage, abovethe merely human stage, above all, as far as possible,that pertains to either or both. I resolve to live theDivine Life-which is not only superhuman but isabove it. 13. I resolve to master my mind and body. Theeducation of the Will and the Expansion of my spiritualStature is the aim of my existence, since what appearto be trials beyond the endurance of common humanitycan have no terrors for the Expanded Intellect of theYogi. The dawn of Spiritual Greatness heralds thedeath of Pain. Pain fructifies in the soil of Ignorance. 14.
